In parallel to ongoing island-wide National Dengue epidemic Prevention Campaigns, troops serving under the 61 Infantry Division of the Security Forces (West) are launching a Dengue Prevention programme from 21 to 23 September 2022 covering four MOH areas, including 15 GN Divisions in Rathnapura District.
During this programme, houses, government and private institutes and religious places, schools and other public places were inspected by the members of the programme and the people have been educated on the rapid spread of the dengue epidemic and its effect.
Around 50 Army personnel from 61 Infantry Division, together with the police, several medical Officers and public health inspectors from the respective areas were participated in the awareness programme.
