Under the theme "Haritha Niyamuwo," an agricultural knowledge improvement and leadership development programme was organized by the Wayamba Training Institute in collaboration with the Army personnel of the 1 Sri Lanka National Guard on 1 April 2023 at Wayamba Training Institute premises - Wariyapola to encourage the students to contribute to the world food safety programmes of the next generation.
Thereby, 70 students of both schools Dambadeniya Maha Vidyalaya and Jayanthi Navodya Central College - Nikaveratiya participated in this awareness workshop, while Army personnel assisted in this invaluable workshop by providing physical training instructors as well as conducting leadership sessions that included theoretical and practical group activities for the students.
Meanwhile, the Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade and Commanding Officer of 1 Sri Lanka National Guard closely monitored the Army's contribution to this programme with the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces (West).
