WEST TROOPS ASSIST IN ANNUAL SPORTS MEETS FOR SEVERAL SCHOOLS IN THEIR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

Upon the request made by Thurstan College, Colombo, Army personnel belonging to the 14 Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under 142 Infantry Brigade of 14 Infantry Division recently extended their assistance by providing referees for the annual Inter-House Sports Meet to judge the sports events and final parade of Thurstan College, Colombo on 20, 21, 23 and 30 March 2023.

Meanwhile, Army personnel from the 7 Battalion Gemunu Watch and 14 Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment provided their assistance to the success of the annual Inter-House Sports Meet of Lumbini College in Colombo, which was conducted at Shalika Ground – Colombo as per the request of the school authorities on 29 March 2023.

Further, the aforesaid contributions were given by the Army personnel with the approval of the Commander Security Forces (West) as well as the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 14 Infantry Division. Moreover, the 142 Brigade Commander and respective Commanding Officers closely monitored the Army’s dedication.
