A contingent of Army personnel, including one Officer and 20 Other Ranks serving in 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry under 141 Infantry Brigade of Security Forces (West), assisted the Colombo Fire Brigade and Gampaha Fire Brigade to extinguish a sudden fire that broke out in a hangers company called Mainetti Pvt. Ltd. at Sapugaskanda on 09 September 2022.
As per the close supervision of the Commander 141 Infantry Brigade and Commanding Officer 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Army personnel swiftly organized and rushed to the venue to prevent the spread of the fire to other areas and provided their utmost assistance to extinguish the fire completely on the same day evening.
