The Commander Security Forces (West) Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP visited 1 Battalion Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers located at Army cantonment, Panagoda on 28 February 2023.
The West Commander was warmly welcomed to the camp premises by the Commanding Officer of 1 Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and his staff by awarding a drive pass at the main entrance. Then the West Commander and visiting officers participated in a comprehensive briefing that was delivered by the Commanding Officer on its role and tasks. Similarly, the West Commander had a brief discussion with the officers of the Battalion and he stressed upon various important aspects such as maintaining discipline among the soldiers, performing entrusted duties with readiness, Battalion administration matters and how to behave as a great soldier in order to uplift the image of the Army, etc.
Thereafter, Commander Security Forces West walked in and around the camp premises and inspected the surroundings and several key places, including Q stores, accommodations of soldiers, kitchen premises, etc. Meanwhile, he interacted with the Officers and Other Ranks and also instructed the responsible officers on how to uphold the high standard of the camp expanding its infrastructure facilities in the future.
Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier Admin and Quartering of Security Forces (West) accompanied the West Commander during the visit.
