In coincide with International Children’s Day - 2023, 'Viru Kekulu' Pre-school, Galle organized a special programme through the collaborative efforts of the pre-school staff and the Army Seva Vanitha Unit at the preschool premises on 03 October 2023.
All the necessities for this programme were properly arranged by the pre - school staff in collaboration with the Army Seva Vanitha Unit. The event was conducted under the patronage of the senior member in charge of the 'Viru Kekulu' pre-school Galle, Mrs. Saumya Ranasinghe, spouse of Major General R A J N Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu, the General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division.
Upon the arrival of Mrs. Saumya Ranasinghe, she was welcomed by a pre-school daughter offering a traditional sheaf of betel along with members of the administrative and teaching staff. Thereafter, she witnessed a variety of colourful events presented by preschool children.
Marking the end of the day's programme, Mrs. Saumya Ranasinghe participated in a gift distribution ceremony for the preschool children and before departure from the premises she visited the classrooms and shared some thoughts with the preschool teachers and children.
Further, addressing the occasion, Mrs. Saumya Eanasinghe, extends her heartiest gratitude to the president of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, and the Officer in charge of the 'Viru Kekulu pre-school – Galle and her staff for arranging such a wonderful event. She also expressed her best wishes to the children and staff of the preschool and parents for their future endeavours. The event was attended by the GOC-61 Infantry Division, senior officers of 61 Infantry Division, preschool staff, teachers, members of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit and parents.
