SPORTS EQUIPMENT DONATED TO DENIPITIYA MAHA VIDYALAYA, MATARA

A sport items donation programme was conducted at the Denipitiya College in Mathara on 4 Nov 2025 under the Coordination of Colonel Coordinating Officer 61 Infantry Division, who is an alumnus of Denipitiya College.

This donation programme was sponsored by legendary cricketer Deshabandu Roshan Mahanama. Major General WSV Fernando USP ndc IG, General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, Colonel SJ Samarasinghe psc Commander 613 Infantry Brigade, senior officers and Deshabandu Roshan Mahanama were also present at the event.

A large number of people, including education officials of the area, the principal and teaching staff, school students, parents, and alumni, participated at this occasion. The past performances of the school cricket team were also commended and they were encouraged and inspired for future achievements with this timely valued cricket equipment donation programme.
