On the concept of Commander of the Army, with the supervision and guidance of Major General Chula Abenayake Commander Security Forces (West), troops of SFHQ (West) commenced sowing of egg paddy in Panaluwa,Thunnana area with a simple ceremony on Friday (13) November 2020.
Major General Chula Abenayake Commander Security Forces (West) attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest at the invitation of the project officer colonel Thushan Ganepola along with Brigadier (Admin & Quartering) and several Senior Officers representing SF - West .Troops of RHQ SLAGSC , Commanding officer and troops of 1 SLAGSC , Officer commanding and troops of SLAGSC farm at Thunnana too associated with the event.
This 6-acre stretch of fields was sowed, to be consistent with the government’s environment-friendly Green Project concept to plant trees and establish urban forests, green paths, green roofs and agro-forestry systems as spelt out in the ‘Saubhagye Dekma’ (Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour) policy statement.
The day’s programme was Organized and coordinated by the SFHQ (West).
