SFHQ - West troops conduct dengue prevention campaign
Troops of the Security Force Headquarters – West (SFHQ –West) contributed to the ongoing national Dengue prevention campaign during 11 – 13 February on the instructions of the Ministry of Defence and the Army Headquarters under the supervision of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ – West by way of inspecting compounds and dwelling areas. \r\n\r\nTroops of 14 and 58 Divisions (SFHQ-West) conducted the programme with the assistance of Medical Officers and Public Health Inspectors (PHI) in the area. \r\n\r\nA total of 19 officers and 360 other ranks of the 14 Division are conducting the programme in Kolonnawa, Dehiwala, Moratuwa, Maharagama, Homagama, Battaramulla and Kotte areas in Colombo District, Biyagama, Kelaniya, Mahara, Aththanagalla in Gampaha District, Kurunegala and Chillaw in Kurunegala and Puttalam Districts for control this deadly epidemic. \r\n\r\n04 officers with 70 other ranks serving under the 58 Division are meanwhile deployed in Kegalle, Aranayaka and Mawanella areas for the same campaign on the directions of the Commander SFHQ-West. \r\n\r\nThe National Dengue Control Unit of the Health Ministry has offered its assistance to the Dengue Prevention campaign.\r\n
