SFHQ-WEST EDUCATES COS ON ‘MILITARY DOCTRINE IN WAY FORWARD STRATEGY’

A workshop, designed for Commanding Officers (COs) of the battalions under command to the Security Force HQ - West on the theme of “An insight to Military Doctrine: Mission Command and Leadership Relevance to the Responsibilities of Command” in line with the Commander’s ‘Way Forward Strategy 2020 - 2025’ got underway during 27-28 October at the Security Force HQ - West at Panagoda.

During this two-day workshop, initiated by Major General Sujeewa Senarathyapa, Commander Security Forces (West), the participating officers actively contributed to the sessions in the workshop that helped them to broaden their horizons of knowledge and different capacities, related to their duties.

This workshop, attended by several Senior Officers including Major General Sujeewa Senarathyapa - Commander SFHQ (West), Major General Dammi Hewage - General Officer Commanding 61 Division, Major General Krishantha Gnanarathne - General Officer Commanding -14 Division, Major General Ajith Kolambathantri - Military Secretary, Major General Robin Jayasuriya - Director General Military Intelligence, Brigadier Kapila Dolage - Director Training, Brigadier Nilantha Premaratne - Director Media, Colonel Sujeewa Rathnayake - Colonel MS (General Correspondence), Lieutenant Colonel D.M.V.M.R Disanayaka - GSO I (Perspective Planning) PPI & Cell Comd Sec, Major D.C De A Disanayake - SLAC and SO 2 (Legal) was organized in order to educate Commanding Officers on the nature of challenges, security scenarios, disasters and preparedness, etc that collaborates with the recommendations in the ‘Way Forward Strategy 2020 - 2025’.
