A sudden bushfire that broke out in Kalugal Kanda Forest area in the Thawalama in Galle District was brought under control by the direction of Major General Sathyappriya Liyanage, Commander, Security Forces (West) on Friday morning (31 Aug).
Two Officers and forty Other Ranks of 16 (V) GW and 2 SLAPC rushed to the scene and control the bushfire, under the close supervision of Commander - 581 Brigade and Commanding officers of the both battalions.
