On the directions of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake and with the close supervision of Major General Sathyappriya Liyanage Comd SF (West), a Sil observances programme was held at Sri Bodhirajaramaya (Army temple) in Panagoda on Poson Full Moon Poyaday (16th June).
During the Sil programme all meals and refreshment for more than 1650 devotes served by the troops of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps and Sri Lanka Army Rifle Corps followed by an evening Bodhi Pooja programme with the participation of Comd SF (West).
Towards the end of the days programme, a 'Poson Bethige' programme commenced with the participation of Comd of the Army, Comd SF (West), several Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks which was organized by the Sri Lanka Army Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Unit.
