SECURITY FORCES (WEST) TROOPS SALUTE THE OUT-GOING COMMANDER

1st Reconnaissance Regiment of Sri Lanka Armourd Corps honoured Major General SWM Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, outgoing Commander of Security Forces (West), with a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour at the Security Forces Headquarters (West) in Panagoda on 21 August 2024.

Following the guard of honour, Major General Mahendra Fernando participated in a group photograph with the officers, capturing the momentous occasion. This provided a lasting memory for both the outgoing Commander and the Officers who had the priviledge of serving under his command.

After the formalities, as a token of appreciation for his outstanding leadership besides dedication, Major General Mahendra Fernando was presented with mementos by the West troops. Those symbolic gestures represented gratitude and honour towards the outgoing Commander, acknowledging his contributions to the Security Forces (West) and his commitment to the duty. Subsequently, all ranks tea had been arranged, providing an opportunity for outgoing Commander - Security Forces (West) to interact with the officers and other ranks. Further, he addressed the troops, expressing gratitude for their valuable service during his tenure.

Deputy Commander Security Forces (West), The General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division, General Officer Commanding of 57 Infantry Division, General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Logistic Command of Security Forces Headquarters (West), Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (West) Deputy General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, , Brigade Commanders, , Brigadier Coordinator (Volunteer matters), Brigadier Admin & Quartering of Security Forces Headquarters (West), Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the Security Forces Headquarters (West) took part in the program.
