SECURITY FORCES (WEST) TROOPS SALUTE THE OUT-GOING COMMANDER

6 Battalion the Gajaba Regiment honored Major General W H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, outgoing Commander of Security Forces (West), with a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour at the Security Forces Headquarters (West) in Panagoda on 19 December 2023.

Following the salute, Major General W H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, participated in a group photograph with the troops, capturing the momentous occasion. This provided a lasting memory for both the outgoing Commander and the Officers who had the privilege of serving under his command.

After the formalities, all ranks tea had been arranged, providing an opportunity for Major General Harindra Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu to interact with the officers and other ranks. Major General W H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu addressed the troops, expressing gratitude for their valuable service during his tenure.

Subsequently, as a token of appreciation for his outstanding leadership besides dedication, Major General W H K S Peiris RWP RSP VSV USP ndu was presented with mementos by the West troops. Those symbolic gestures represented gratitude and honor towards the outgoing Commander, acknowledging his contributions to the Security Forces (West) and his commitment to the duty.

The General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division who is overlooking the responsibilities of the Commander SF (West), General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders, Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (West), Brigadier Admin & Quartering of Security Forces Headquarters (West), Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks of the Security Forces Headquarters (West) took part in the program.
