A programme to distribute a stock of school accessories including school bags, equipments, exercise books and other stationery items among 38 school students at Guruwala Primary School, located in Dompe got underway on 19 December 2022, with the proper coordination of 141 Infantry Brigade under 14 Infantry Division of Security Forces (West).
In line with the programme, the Students of Guruwala Primary School received stock of school accessories by the Retired Senior Army Officer Major Roshan Silva and his spouse. Apart from that, donors and Army personnel also arranged to provide a delicious lunch for the school children, teachers and parents who attended at the programme.
In the meantime, all the necessities were coordinated at the location by Army personnel of 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, on the direction of the commander, Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, with the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division, Major General J M R N K Jayamanna RWP and Commander of 141 Infantry Brigade.
Moreover, teachers, children and parents expressed their gratitude to the donors and coordinators for provided such a timely important donation that directly paved path for effective learning.
