A group of Army personnel belongs to 1 Sri Lanka National Guard under command to 143 Infantry Brigade of 14 Infantry Division under the Security Forces (West) recently provided their assistance by giving the workforce for the task of painting and renovating two classroom buildings at Meddepola Primary School in Giriulla, which had been discoloured for a long time.
As per the directions of the Commander, Security Forces (West) and the General Officer of Commanding 14 Infantry Division, one Officer and seven Other Ranks were attached to the said task on 10 – 11 March 2023, in response to a request made by the school authorities.
The Army's contribution was closely monitored by the Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade, along with the Commanding Officer of 1 Sri Lanka National Guard. Further, paints and other materials for the renovation process have been sponsored by the Evergreen Lions Club - Colombo.
