In parallel to the 10th Anniversary celebration of the Security Forces (West), a Cricket tournament followed by a Musical Night has been organized by Security Forces (West) at Army Cantonment, Panagoda from 1900 hrs onwards on 17 November 2022.
As a part of the Anniversary celebrations the Security Forces Commander’s Trophy Cricket tournament which was held under two groups among 10 teams consisting with 14 and 61 Infantry divisions, under command Brigades and Security Forces (Headquarters) troops was a high octane throughout the tournament. The tournament commenced from 12 November 2022 onwards and concluded on 16 November with the grand finale between 613 Infantry Brigade and 143 Infantry Brigade.
Thane after , a Musical Night which was held with the participation of many artists was mind-blowing and the Commander Security Forces (West) graced the Musical Night as the Chief Guest at the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Service ground. Thereby, the Prize Giving ceremony of the Security Forces Commander’s Trophy Cricket Tournament was held to reinvigorate the energy and enthusiasm and provide a platform to showcase the skills of the soldiers to uplift the sportsmanship of the Sri Lanka Army. The 613 Infantry Brigade challenge team who secured the championship was awarded Rs.100000.00 cash prize and the trophy and the Runner up which secured by 143 Infantry Brigade team was awarded Rs.50000.00 cash prize and a Runner up trophy and the man of the series was awarded Rs.15000.00 cash prize and a trophy.
