The World Elders’ Day was celebrated with the inmates of Wilbert Perera Elders’ Home, Korathota by SFHQ (West) on Monday(30) September 2019.On the directions of Major General Mahinda Mudalige the Commander Security Force (West), Officers and Other Ranks of SF HQ (West) organized this community-oriented programme.
During the programme, troops carried out a cleaning project and provided requirements for the Elders’Home. Similarly, a group of medical Officers from the Base Hospital, Panagoda conducted a medical clinic and provided medicine to the inmates at the same occasion.
Meanwhile, troops of SFHQ (West)offered sumptuous lunch to all 34 inmates to mark the day.A Calypso musical group added music rhythms and entertained the inmates before lunch was served.
Towards the end of the project,a large stock of gift parcels, consist of Sarongs,Woman Dresses, Bed Sheets,Soaps and other needy things were given to them. Commander SF(West), Senior Officers,Officers and Other Ranks attended the occasion.
