Security Forces Headquarters (West) which was formed on 15 November 2012 and presently carrying out its duties in an excellent manner covering nine districts under Western, North Western, Sabaragamuwa and Southern Provinces under 14 and 61 Infantry Divisions marked its 10th anniversary on 15 November 2022 ceremonially at the Army Cantonment, Panagoda consisted with series of events.
The guiding leadership of the Security Forces (West) Major General D M K D B Pussalla RWP RSP and the President of the Buddhist Association , the Chairman of Sri Lanka Army Elle Committee and the 13th Commander of the Security Forces Headquarters (West) was the protagonist for the day’s inauguration upon his arrival in the Security Forces Headquarters camp premises was presented a formal Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour by the troops of the Sri Lanka Army Corps of Engineers in accordance with military formalities and thereby, the West Commander was received by the Brigadier Admin & Quartering Brigadier D A Amarasekara USP and the Brigadier General Staff Brigadier K V N P Premaratne RSP USP psc.
Thereafter, the West Commander was invited to plant a sapling in front of the office complex to mark the 10th anniversary. A few minutes later, the Chief Guest and other participants joined for a group photograph at the camp premises. Then, the Anniversary celebration ceremony reached its climax with an all ranks lunch, followed by a troop address.
General Officer Commandings of both 61 and 14 Infantry Divisions, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Staff Officers of Security Forces Headquarters (West), Other Ranks and Civil staffers associated with those anniversary events.
