In today’s context, knowledge of information and communication technologies has become a vital and significant requirement in the entire Sri Lanka. Specially military cyber security must be prioritized in order to avoid any significant harm in protecting the troops and entire citizens of the country. Accordingly, on the direction of the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu Security Forces Headquarters (West) organized a valuable lecture and a discussion on "Cyber Security-Phishing Attacks" at the Security Forces Headquarters (West) conference hall on 28 January 2022 adhering to the COVID 19 health guidelines.
Capt R M M R Ratnayake, Officer Commanding of Emergency Response Sqn – 12 SLSC (C/S), delivered this timely important lecture, which covered topics such as type of phishing attacks, ways in which a phishing attack occurs, identifying phishing attacks, avoiding phishing attacks, and the effect of phishing attacks, etc.
Senior Officers, Officers, and other ranks of Security Forces Headquarters (West) participated in this lecture discussion and got further knowledge on ‘Cyber Security - Phishing Attacks’. Furthermore, the audience was also given an opportunity to clarify their doubts following an Q & A session.
