THE PRESIDENT SEVA VANITHA UNIT SRI LANKA ARMY GENERAL SERVICE CORPS VISITS RANAVIRU SEVANA, RAGAMA

Mrs. Himali Pussella, the chairperson of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Seva Vanitha unit, recently made a visit to the Ranaviru Sevana in Ragama on 07 August 2023, with the objective of raising the mental stability and wellness of permanently injured War Heroes under recuperation and rehabilitation.

The day’s Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by a wheelchair-using War Hero who, in accordance with traditions, offered sheaves of betel in the company of Brigadier S.C. Ekanayake RSP, Director Rehabilitation and Brigadier W.D.M. Kumarasinghe RSP, Commandant, Ragama Ranaviru Sevana.

During her visit, Mrs. Pussella took time off to interact with the resident War Heroes and inquire about their well-being. She listened attentively to their stories and experiences, showing genuine concern for their welfare. By engaging in personal conversations, she aimed to understand their individual needs and requirements.

Recognizing the importance of supporting these brave individuals in their recovery process, Mrs. Pussella ensured that she left a positive impact during her visit. She presented gift parcels to each of the War Heroes as a token of appreciation for their sacrifices and as a means to uplift their spirits. At the culmination of the day’s programme, Mrs. Himali Pussella wrote a complimentary remark in the ‘Visitors Book and talked to all the officers serving at the Ranaviru Sevana before her departure from the venue.

Meanwhile, as a part of the visit, the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Seva Vanitha unit also organized a captivating entertainment programme for the veterans. This entertainment programme included soothing melodies and heartfelt lyrics, providing a therapeutic experience for veterans and all who present at the event.

Further, In line with the day’s programme, all the arrangements were well organized by the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Seva Vanitha unit in collaboration with the staff of the Ranaviru Sevana in Ragama.

In addition, as per the directions of Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP, ward no 1 of Ragama Ranaviru Sevana also has been renovated by the troops of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps one week ago prior to the chairperson’s visit.

The Commander Security Forces (West), as well as Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps, Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP and several members of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Seva Vanitha Branch, senior Officers and Officers also participated at the event.
