Major General Sathyappriya Liyanage, Overall Operations Commander (Western Province and Puttalam District) and the Commander – SFHQ (West), visited troops who were conducting the Cordon & Search operations in Malwana area on 29th May 2019 and issued relevant guidance.
These Cordon & Search operations which are being conducted covering the whole OOC area are instrumental in building public confidence. The importance of such searches is that they aid in strengthening mutual trust between all communities by fostering confidence about the population of the area.
