The OOC is Re-established

The functions of the Overall Operations Command – Western Province and Puttalam District was reestablished with immediate effect on 29 April 2019.

Major General Sathyappriya Liyanage, Commander – SFHQ (West), Commandant – Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and the Colonel Commandant of SLAC has been appointed as the Overall Operations Commander.

Rear Admiral W.A.S.S Perera of the Navy, Air Vice Marshal W.L.R.P Rodrigo of the Air Force, Superintendent of Police L.K.D Anil Priyantha and Assistant Superintendent of Police K.A.A.K Katugampola of the STF are assigned as Operational Coordinating Officers of the OOC.

The OOC, functioning under the Chief of Defence Staff is responsible for the Operational Command and Control of all Tri-Services, Police and STF personnel in the Western Province and Puttalam District.

The Headquarters of the OOC is located at Army Cantonment, Panagoda.
