THE NEWLY APPOINTED GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 61 INFANTRY DIVISION TAKING OVER DUTIES

Brigadier KTP De Silva RSP ndu psc of Sri Lanka Light Infantry assumed office as the 21st General Officer Commanding (GOC), 61 Infantry Division on 11 October 2024 amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the 61 Infantry Division Headquarters in Boossa.

The day proceedings commenced with Guard Turnout accorded to the new GOC at the main entrance on his arrival. Subsequently, the newly appointed GOC penned his signature in an official document signifying the acceptance of his new office while chanting of Seth pirith by venerable members of the Maha Sangha.

Thereafter, Brigadier KTP De Silva posed for group photograph with all Officers and attended for a formal all ranks tea.

Later on, the new GOC in line with military formalities addressing all Officers and Other Ranks where he expressed his vision for the Division in future.

Deputy General Officer Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Staff Officers and Other Ranks of 61 Infantry Division were participated for this program.
