Major General DGS Senarathyapa RWP RSP ndu assumed office as the new Commander, Security Forces -West (SF-WEST) on Thursday (8) July 2021 with a simple ceremony. The new Security Forces Commander (West) was awarded with a Guard Turnout soon after his arrival at the premises in accordance with military traditions.
After the formal military honours, Major General Sujeewa Senarath yapa auspiciously took over duties as the 11thCommander of Security Forces (West) amidst religious observances and placed his signature in an official document to signify the acceptance of his new office.
Then, the new west commander planted a sapling in front of the main office complex to mark the assumption of duties.Subsequently he participated in an all rank tea table and addressed the troops.
Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps Maj Gen P A J Peiris ndu, General Officer Commanding of 14 and 61 Inf Divisions, Directors of the Directorates located in the Cantonment, Brigade Commanders of under Command Brigades, Centre Commandants of the RHQs located in the Cantonment, Commanding Officers of affiliated Bns, Officers and Other Ranks of the SFHQ (West) were present at the ceremony.
