The Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP took over the duties as the 16th Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps on 08 June 2023. As part of his new role, he visited the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Headquarters located at the Army cantonment, Panagoda during 14, 21, June and 04 July 2023.
During his visit, Major General D.M K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP emphasized the importance of discipline and professionalism among the soldiers of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps. He stressed the need for all personnel to adhere to the highest standards of conduct and to uphold the values and traditions of the Sri Lanka Army.
The Colonel Commandant also highlighted the significance of maintaining a clean and well-organized camp environment. He instructed the responsible officers to ensure that all areas, including the Q stores, accommodations, kitchen premises, Armoury, etc, are kept in the highest Standard.
In addition to inspecting the existing facilities, Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP also discussed plans for expanding the infrastructure of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Headquarters. He encouraged officers to identify areas that require improvement and to propose innovative solutions to enhance the camp's facilities.
The visit of the new Colonel Commandant to the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps Headquarters was seen as a positive development by the Officers and other ranks. It provided an opportunity for them to interact with their Colonel Commandant, discuss their concerns, and receive guidance on how to improve their performance.
