A MOBILE VACCINATION PROGRAMME TO SPEED UP ENOCULATION

As another step in curbing rapid spread of the COVID- 19 pandemic, Security Force (West) launched a mobile vaccination programme far with the Army’s mobile vaccination fleet that prioritizes the vaccination of the elderly, sick , handicapped and feeble sections in the society, on the direction of the Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva and under the supervision of the Commander Security Force (West) Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa on 22nd August 2021.

The Mobile vaccination process was carried out to inoculate for people over age of 60 years and differently abled people who are living in the SF(West) AOR. Similarly, Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps Base hospital – Panagoda contributed utmost assistance to complete the programme successfully.

Furthermore, this novel project which conducted for the betterment of the stranded people specially in this quarantine curfew was appreciated by the public praising the army’s key role in the fight against the pandemic.
