A MEDITATIVE SERMON AT BODHIRAJARAMA TEMPLE

A meditative sermon was organized by the Security Forces (West) at the Bodhirajarama Temple from 1700 hrs to 2100 hrs on 27 April 2024, aiming to cultivate the spiritual well-being of Army members and civil servants in celebration of the Sinhala and Hindu New Year, as per the concept of the Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc the Commander, Security Forces Headquarters (West) and Head of Sri Lanka Army Buddhist Association. Ven. Rajagiriye Ariyanana Thero conducted the sermon. This program was initially coordinated by Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant of Army War College.

Approximately 2000 devotees, including few monks from neighboring temples, Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Commander of Security Forces Headquarters (West), Mrs. Samangka Fernando, the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division, the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Brigade Commanders, Brigadier General Staff Security Forces (West), Brigadier Admin & Quartering Security Forces (West), Senior Officers, Officers, troops from all under command Battalions and civilians, participated in the program. Before commencing the sermon, attendees were served herbal tea, and a dinner was provided for all devotees afterward.

Additionally, transportation facilities were arranged for devotees to ensure they could return home without any hindrance after the sermon.
