Major General Ubaya Medawela, who served as the Commander, Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) for more than one and half year left the office on Thursday (15) to assume duties at senior appointment in United Nations based in New York.\r\n\r\nIn accordance with military traditions, Major General Ubaya Medawela reviewed the Guard Turnout on arrival and received the salute of the Guard of Honour at the SFHQ-West grounds, presented by women soldiers of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corp (SLAWC).\r\n\r\nGeneral Officer Commanding (GOCs) of the 14 and 58 Divisions, Brigade Commanders of the 141,142,143,583 Brigades, commanding officers , officers as well as the other ranks of the SFHQ- West were present at the farewell ceremony.\r\n\r\nTroop address and all rank tea table culminated the day\'s proceedings.
