Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, the Commander Security Forces (West), paid an official visit to 61 Infantry Division and 613 Infantry Brigade on Wednesday, (11th).
Major General Lanka Amarapala was honoured with a customary guard turnout extended with a warm welcome by Major General K H M S Wikramaratne RSP, General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division together with Brigadier W M L S Dayawansa, Deputy General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division. Sombolized the visit to the division, Major General Lanka Amarapala planted a sapling at the camp premises and posed for a group photograph. A comprehensive briefing on the division's role, tasks, and the current situation of the Area of Responsibility was conducted by General Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Division.
The Commander Security Forces (West) addressed the troops, emphasizingthe current issues and social developments, focusing particularly on the role and tasks of the Army, maintenance of relationship with the Police and other supportive elements, current security engagements, maintening the dignity of the Army and self discipline. In military hospitality the Commander Security Forces (West) joined the All-Ranks Tea.
Subsequently, Major General Amarapala visited the 613 Infantry Brigade and warmly welcomed by Brigadier T S N M A B Arambepola RWP, the Commander 613 Infantry Brigade having a honored with a drive pass. He planted sapling at the camp premisses and addressed the troops. Additionally, he visited the 9th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, where he was also honored with a drive pass.
