On account of the 75th National Independence Anniversary Day, His Excellency, the President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on the recommendation of the Ministry of Defence and the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu has promoted a total of 208 Officers of the Sri Lanka Army (Regular and Volunteer Force) and a record 9919 Other Ranks of the Army (Regular Force and Volunteer Force and Extra Regimental Employment Basis) to their respective next rank.
Accordingly, the Civil Affairs Officer of Security Forces Headquarters (West), Lieutenant Colonel A G S A Kumara, has been promoted to the next rank of colonel.
Commander Security Forces (West), Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks extended well wishes to newly promoted Colonel A G S A Kumara on his well-deserved promotion.
