KELANIYA RAJA MAHA VIHARAYA YOUTH ASSOCIATION LEADS VESAK BATH DANSALA WITH MILITARY AND CIVIL SUPPORT

In a commendable display of unity, devotion, and community spirit, the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya Youth Association organized a Bath Dansala at the Maha Devi Hall, Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya on 12 May 2025 in celebration of the sacred Vesak festival.

This meritorious event was held under the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (West) Maj General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc and was supervised by the Commander 144 Infantry Brigade Brigadier B Y C Fernando RWP USP. Demonstrating the true essence of compassion and service to humanity, the Dansala was a collaborative effort with active participation from the troops and civil servants of the 2(V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry.

The Bath Dansala offered warm meals to thousands of devotees and pilgrims visiting the Kelaniya temple, honoring the spirit of Vesak by promoting generosity and fellowship.

A special highlight of the event was the visit of the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Major General W W W M C B Wickramasingha RWP RSP ndu psc, who acknowledged the dedication and coordinated efforts of everyone involved—from the youth volunteers to the military personnel and civil contributors. His presence added great encouragement to the team and reinforced the significance of such joint community initiatives.

This noble initiative not only brought nourishment to Vesak pilgrims but also served as a powerful symbol of unity between civilians and the armed forces, all working together for a common cause.

The Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya Youth Association continues to exemplify the values of service, leadership, and devotion, and this year's Bath Dansala stands as a testament to their commitment to preserving and celebrating Sri Lanka's rich cultural and religious traditions.
