While 3 (V) Battalion Gamunu Watch troops were on duty near the main gate of their Headquarters in Matara, a stranded foreigner has been generously helped to move his vehicle to the nearest fuel station after his vehicle suddenly stopped near the main gate due to lack of fuel on 07 July 2022.
As per the information reported, this predicament has been occurred in the mid of the road blocking the passage and thereby, the troops of 3 (V) Battalion Gamunu Watch of Security Forces (West) has assisted the foreigner to push the vehicle to the roadside and among the troops a soldier has willingly helped him donating little spare of petrol of his own motorcycle to manage him to reach the nearest fuel station in Matara town.
Such kind of selfless incidents are well reflected the soldiers’ creed and army values to the entire nation.
