GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING 61 INFANTRY DIVISION VISITS FORMATIONS UNDER COMMAND TO HIS DIVISION

After assuming duties as new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 61 Infantry Division, Major General H M U Herath RWP RSP USP hdmc psc made his first formal visits to the 611 and 613 Infantry Brigades and their under-command Battalions on 07,14 and 15 December 2022 respectively.

Initially, he visited the 611 Infantry Brigade on 07th and a few days later he visited the 613 Infantry Brigade and its under Command Battalions on 14 and 15 December 2022.

During the visits, Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers in respective camps received the visiting General Officer Commanding after he was saluted in Guards Turnout on arrival in keeping with military traditions.

Similarly, to make his first visits to Brigades and Battalions memorable, the General Officer Commanding planted saplings inside camp compounds and received comprehensive briefings, presented by Brigade Commanders and Commanding Officers on their operational and administrative matters.

Moreover, General Officer Commanding addressed All Officers and ORs and emphasized some salient aspects regarding discipline and present duties of the soldiers. In addition, he praised the commitment of troops who rendered their potential service in the past and present situations of the AOR.

Several staff officers of the 61 Infantry Division Headquarters also accompanied the General Officer Commanding during the visits.
