GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 61 INFANTRY DIVISION VISITS THE 613 INFANTRY BRIGADE AND THE UNDER COMMAND’S BATTALIONS

Brigadier K T P de Silva, RSP ndu psc, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) 61 Infantry Division, conducted his maiden official visit to the 613 Infantry Brigade on 16 October 2024.

Brigadier S N M A B Arambepola, RWP, the Commander of 613 Infantry Brigade, warmly welcomed the GOC upon his arrival and accorded him a drive past at the Brigade’s entrance.

Marking his visit to the Brigade, the GOC posed for a group photograph with the Brigade’s staff and planted a sapling. Afterwards, he addressed the troops, emphasizing the importance of discipline and its vital role in achieving the success. He shared his vision of the command and outlined his goals, inspiring the troops to maintain combat readiness and work towards the common objectives. At the end of his address, he wrote complimentary remarks in the visitors’ book.

Afterwards, he visited the 9 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and the 3 (V) Battalion of Gemunu Watch, inspecting their guard rooms, armories, medical facilities, office complexes, accommodations, welfare facilities, and more.

The event was attended by the Commander of the 613 Infantry Brigade, the Colonel Admin and Quartering of 61 Infantry Division, the Colonel Coordinator, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, and Other Ranks.
