Foundation Stone-laying for New Two-Storied Provost Detachment at SFHQ-West Held
The foundation-stone laying ceremony for construction of the new two - storied office complex at the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) detachment at Panagoda Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) premises took place on Tuesday (7).
Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - West (SF-West) at the auspicious minute laid the foundation stone as the Chief Guest for the event.
The 60 x 20 feet new two-storied building is to be completed within a few months with Army funds and the combined support of Army Engineers and SFHQ-West troops under the supervision of Corps of Engineer Services (CES).
The day’s Chief Guest, Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SF-West was welcomed to the venue by the Colonel Commandant of the SLCMP, Brigadier, V.N Koswatta who afterwards invited him to lay the foundation-stone and unveil a symbolic plaque that marked the inauguration.
The event was attended by Provost Marshal of the Army, Brigadier G.K.G.D Sirisena, Brigadier Administration and Quartering (BAQ), SFHQ-West, Brigadier M.A.A.D Sirinaga, SLCMP Centre Commandant, Brigadier I.O.W Madola, senior officers and other rankers.
