ECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (WEST) TROOPS ATTEND AN INVALUABLE LECTURE

Security Forces Headquarters (West) troops listened to another invaluable lecture that was initiated by the Army Hospital, Colombo, themed "Healthy Army-Healthy Nation." The lecture got underway on 17 May 2023, at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Engineer Service Regiment lecture hall, Army Cantonment, Panagoda.

The lecture was delivered by the Consultant Physician and executive coordinator of "Healthy Army-Healthy Nation" project, Brigadier (Retd) Dr. A.S.M Wijewardane USP, who spoke about the importance of leading a healthy life and practicing sound health habits. She emphasized the risks associated with unhealthy habits such as smoking, poor dietary habits, and excessive alcohol consumption, which can lead to non-communicable diseases (NCDs), like high blood pressure and diabetes.

As per the directions of the Commander Security Forces (West), 22 officers and 90 Other Ranks attended the lecture session and it will undoubtedly help the troops to understand the importance of leading a healthy life and motivate them to adopt healthy habits.
