DISTRIBUTION OF OXYGEN CONCENTRATORS FOR MOST NEEDED HOSPITALS IN THE WESTERN PROVINCE

Due to the spread of COVID – 19 pandemic in the country and the rapid spread of the virus among the infectees, as an emergency measure, on the directions of the Head, National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and the Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva, with the instruction of the commander SF (West) Major General D G S Senarathyapa RWP RSP ndu, on Saturday(2) distributed six Oxygen Concentrators among the Kurunegala General Hospital, Sri Jaywardanapura General Hospital and De Soysa Maternity Hospital Colombo. Two Oxygen Concentrators are handed over to Kuliyapitiya General Hospital for the betterment of the serious patients, affected by COVID-19 on Sunday (3).

Thereby, 142 Infantry Brigade handed over two Oxygen Concentrators to Sri Jaywardanapura General Hospital and two Oxygen Concentrators to De Soysa Maternity Hospital Colombo. 1 SLNG under command to the 143 Infantry Brigade, handed over two Oxygen Concentrators to Kurunegala General Hospital and two Oxygen Concentrators to Kuliyapitiya General Hospital. The distribution programmes took place under the direct supervision of the GOC of 14 Inf Div and the Bde comds of 142, 143 Inf Bde.
