The customary Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations at the Security Forces Headquarters (West) in the wake of dawn of the New Year began on the morning of 16 April 2025, with the participation of Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commander of Security Forces (West).
Simultaneously, the West Commander distributed gift packs to 34 civil servants working under the Security Forces Headquarters (West).
The event unfolded with an interactive session of all ranks amidst the celebration of the New Year and finally, to conclude the event; the Commander of Security Forces (West) addressed the troops who were present at this occasion and wished everyone a prosperous New Year.
