CORNERSTONE LAID FOR ONE MORE NEW HOUSE FOR ANOTHER NEEDY FAMILY BY WEST TROOPS

With the blessing of Commander Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 14 Infantry Division, Major General J M R N K Jayamanna RWP and close supervision of the Commander 143 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier T M F Kitchilan RWP RSP, the foundation stone-laying for the construction of a new house for a needy family, consisting of a mother and four children living in Thewanuwara, Thabbowa, was held on 25 March 2023, during a simple ceremony.

This noble project was initiated and coordinated by the Commandant of the Kalaoya Army Vocational Training Centre, Brigadier A M S Premawansa RWP RSP USP, together with the Commanding Officer of 16 Battalion, the Gajaba Regiment, Major S A D P Jayarathne USP psc, who is providing his manpower as well as labour support for the continuation of the task. Meanwhile, Mr Sahan Rajapaksha, a generous donor who lives in Nugegoda, has promised financial sponsorship for this construction, which will be done by Army personnel.

The Commandant of Kalaoya Army Vocational Training Centre, Commander, 143 Infantry Brigade, the Commanding Officer of 16 Battalion, the Gajaba Regiment, Officers, donors, Other Ranks and the beneficiary were present during the inaugural ceremony.
