COMMENCEMENT OF THE FIRST WORKING DAY FOR THE YEAR 2024 AT SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (WEST)

The program for the first day at Security Forces Headquarters (West) in 2024 began on January 1^st with a flag hoisting ceremony. Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the Commander Security Forces (West), and Brigadier KTP De Silva RSP ndu psc, the Brigadier General Staff, Security Forces (West), raised the National flag and the Army flag respectively. The National anthem and the Army song were played, followed by a two-minute silence honoring all fallen war heroes who sacrificed to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Motherland.

Following this, All Ranks took the 'Oath of Government Employees.' Subsequently, the Commander Security Forces (West) addressed the troops, extending New Year wishes and expressing gratitude for their commitment and service during past crucial times in the country. He also emphasized the importance of their continued invaluable service in the future.

Later, all ranks tea was organized at the Security Forces Headquarters (West), providing an opportunity for the Commander Security Forces (West) to have a cordial discussion with everyone.
