The first-day programme of Security Forces Headquarters (West)-2023 commenced on 02 January 2023, with a monthly flag hoisting ceremony and the Commander Security Forces (West) Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, together with the Brigadier Admin and Quartering, Security Forces (West), Brigadier D A Amarasekara USP hoisted the National flag and the Army flag respectively. Similarly, the national anthem and the Army song were played. Then there was a two-minute silence in honour of all fallen war heroes who made the supreme sacrifice to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Motherland.
Thereafter, the ‘oath of the government servants’ was given by All Ranks and then the Commander Security Forces (West) addressed the troops, wishing them a prosperous happy new year and appreciating the commitment of the troops who rendered their potential service throughout the past crucial era in the country and as well as directed to render their invaluable service in the future too. Afterwards, a tea party has been arranged for All Ranks of the Security Forces Headquarters (West) and thereby, the Commander, Security Forces (West) had a cordial discussion with All Ranks.
At the end of the day’s programme, as per the direction of the Commander of the Army with the supervision of the Commander Security Forces (West), Security Forces Headquarters (West) organized a dry ration packs distribution programme among 39 civil servants who are currently serving at the Security Forces Headquarters (West).
