Commander, Security Forces (West) Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP paid his maiden visit to 14 Infantry Division area on Monday (09) after assuming duties as the 13th Commander of the Security Forces (West).
Major General G G A S Wickramasena RWP RSP USP psc Hdmc, General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division, warmly welcomed the newly appointed West Commander to 14 Infantry Division Headquarters in accordance with military formalities. A few minutes later, the Commander attended a comprehensive briefing by the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division in attendance with the Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of 14 Infantry Division Headquarters and other Senior Officers.
As per the day’s itinerary, the Commander, Security Forces (West) visited 141 Infantry Brigade Headquarters located at Weyangoda and thereby, he was received by the Brigadier S P G Gamage, Commander 141 Infantry Brigade at the Brigade Headquarters. Thereafter, the Commander, Security Forces (West) addressed the troops of 14 Infantry Division and appreciated the commitment of troops who rendered their potential service in the past and directed respective troops to render their invaluable service in the future too. Moreover, the Commander emphasized maintaining discipline as a vital fact which enhance the professionalism of the Army. Subsequently, the Commander joined for a camp visit where the commander inspected the welfare of soldiers. Thereafter he was invited to plant a sapling in the 141 Infantry Brigade Headquarters premises to mark his visit.
Afterwards, the Commander of 141 Infantry Brigade delivered a comprehensive briefing with the participation of the Commanding Officers under 141 Infantry Brigade and Staff Officers of 141 infantry Brigade on their respective duties under the AOR.
Brigadier General Staff Brigadier K W S Perera RWP and Brigadier Admin and Quartering Brigadier G D R U Galhenage of the Security Forces Headquarters (West) accompanied the Commander during the visit.
