Intending to reinforce the existing vaccination programme against COVID-19 ,SF – West continue to assist the staff of inoculation centres and respective government authorities in the area.
Major General Vikum Liyanagae, Commander, Security Forces – West visited inoculation centres and inspected the progress of vaccination programme in Ahaliyagoda and Ratnapura areas on 31 may 2021. During the visit he shared a few words with health providers and Army personnel working there, also spoke to some civilians waiting for inoculation and inquired into their health concerns, guidelines and precautions.
Several senior Officers along with COVID - 19 Ratnapura district coordinating officer Brigadier Roshan Jayamanna , General Staff Officer 1(Ops) of SFHQ – West Lt Col Chandimal Welagedara and Commanding Officer 8 GW Major Suranjana de Alwis accompanied the West commander during the visit.
