THE COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (WEST) PARTICIPATES IN THE SRI SAMBUDDHA JAYANTHI RANDOLI PERAHERA AT AMBULGAMA RAJAMAHA VIHARAYA

Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commander of Security Forces (West), participated in the Annual Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Randoli Perahera at the Ambulgama Rajamaha Viharaya on Saturday, 4th January.

In response to an invitation extended by the Most Venerable Dankande Bodhiwansha Thero, Major General Lanka Amarapala attended this sacred event, which commemorates the historic significance of the Randoli Perahera at the Ambulgama Rajamaha Viharaya. Major General Lanka Amarapala had the esteemed honor of transferring the sacred relics from the relic chamber to their ceremonial placement atop the main tusker “Kotte Raja”, a central and spiritually significant aspect of the procession.

The grand procession commenced at an auspicious time and the procession was adorned with vibrant cultural performances by traditional dance troupes and showcased the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka. The Randoli Perahera traversed the streets, captivating attendees and highlighting the deep historical and religious significance of the event.

The event was a significant cultural and religious occasion, further strengthening the bond between the Sri Lanka Army and local communities. To ensure the success of this sacred event, a dedicated team of honorable guests and officials participated in the ceremony, including Members of Parliament Mr. Aruna Pangoda and Mr. Susantha Dodawatta. Additionally, Brigadier G K S Perera RSP ndu, the Brigadier General Staff Security Forces Headquarters (West), joined with 150 soldiers from the Sri Lanka Army to provide essential support throughout the proceedings.
