COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (WEST) MAKES A FORMAL VISIT TO 141 INFANTRY BRIGADE

After taking over duties as the Commander, Security Forces (West), Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu paid a visit to the 141 Infantry Brigade, 6 Artillery Regiment and 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry under command to the 14 Infantry Division on Thursday (23).

Initially, the Commander Security Forces (West) visited the 141 Infantry Brigade and Major General A K G K U Gnanarathne ndu psc General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division, together with Brigadier S P G Gamage RWP RSP USP Commander of 141 Infantry Brigade, welcomed the newly appointed West Commander in accordance with military formalities and, after a few minutes attended for a comprehensive briefing that described the respective AOR with the participation of the Commanding Officers of under command battalions and staff officers of the 141 Infantry Brigade. Thereby, the Commander Security Forces (West) was invited to plant sapling to mark his arrival. Further, he did not forget to pen a complimentary remark in the visitors’ book before departure the 141 Infantry Brigade premises.

As per the day’s itinerary, the Commander Security Forces (West) who visited the 14 Battery of 6 Artillery Regiment was welcomed by the commanding officer, Lt Col A H M T Gunaratne RSP psc. Similarly, visiting the camp premises, the Commander Security Forces (West) inspected the welfare of the troops.

Subsequently, the Commander Security Forces (West) visited the 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry and the Commanding Officer of the 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major I A L Illeperuma RWP RSP, who welcomed the Commander Security Forces (West) and toured around the camp premises.

During the visit, the Commander Security Forces (West) took time off to share a few thoughts with the other ranks and appreciated the commitment of troops who rendered their potential service in this present scenario and directed respective officers to render their invaluable service in the future too.

General Officer Commanding of the 14 Infantry Division Major General A K G K U Gnanarathne ndu psc, Col GS 14 Infantry Division Col A L Mapalagama, CCCA SFHQ (West) Col S M S Samarakon, GSO 1 (Ops) SFHQ (West) Lt Col L W B Ridimahaliyadda USP IG, GSO 1 HQ OOC SF (West) Lt Col A M S M K Weligepola psc and several Senior officers accompanied the Commander during the visit.
