COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (WEST) MAKES A COURTESY VISIT TO REGIMENTAL HEADQUARTERS SRI LANKA ARMY ORDNANCE CORPS

After assuming duties as the 13th Commander of Security Forces (West), Major General D M K D B Pussella RWP RSP, made a courtesy visit to the Regimental Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps, located at Dombagoda on 12 September 2022.

At the headquarters premises, the visiting commander was warmly welcomed by Brigadier G A Munasinghe RSP ato, Centre Commandant and his Staff Officers. Then, the West Commander attended for a short briefing that described the deployment of the camp by the Centre Commandant.

After the briefing, the Commander Security Forces (West) inspected several key places in the camp, including the Tyre Retreading Section at Dombagoda Factory besides the welfare of the soldiers. Moreover, during the inspection, the commander gave necessary recommendations to the respective Officers in order to uplift the welfare and standard of the camp. Meanwhile, the West commander also visited the training school of Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps located at the same location in Dombagoda, where he unexpectedly observed the classes ongoing and interacted with the students.

Finally, marking the end of the day's visit, the West Commander did not forget to pen a complimentary remark in the 'Visitors' book’ before departure from the camp premises.

Moreover, along the way back, West Commander visited several places at Bulathsinhala and Wadduwa for the proposed deployment of Battalion under Security Forces (West) along with the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, the Commander 612 Infantry Brigade and respective Commanding Officers.

The General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Major General W R M M Rathnayaka RWP RSP USP ndu, Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin and Quartering of Security Forces (West), Commander 612 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers and several Staff Officers accompanied the West Commander during the visit.
