COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (WEST) MARKED HIS MAIDEN VISIT TO 57 INFANTRY DIVISION
Major General K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc, marked his official visit to 57 Infantry Division AOR on 09 and 10 April 2026 after assumption of duties as the Commander Security Force (West)
The Commander Security Force (West) visited the headquarters 57 infantry division as the first step. Commander Security Forces (West) was welcomed by Major General K M V Kodithuwakku ndu General Officer Commanding 57 Infantry Division along with Senior Officers and Officers of the division. Subsequently a comprehensive briefing was conducted about the Division AOR and its function. Signing visitors’ book, tree planting and group photograph were also taken place to mark the visit.
During the visit Commander Security Forces (West) addressed the under command troops at several occasions. Addressing the assembled troops, Commander Security Forces (West) emphasized the individual responsibility, importance of mutual understanding among soldiers, discipline and responsibility empowered on Senior Non-Commissioned Officers. He also highlighted role of Army with regard to government initiatives ‘Ratama Ekata’ and ‘Çlean Sri Lanka’. Further, Commander stressed the importance of maintenance and management of resources
As a part of the field visit, Commander visited under command Brigades and Battalions of 57 Infantry Division. During these visits, military traditions were practiced to honour and welcome the Commander Security Force (West). Brigade commanders conducted briefings on their AORs in depth.
General Officer Commanding 57 Infantry Division, Brigadier General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (West), Brigade Commanders, Colonel (Admin and Quartering) Security Forces Headquarters (West), Commanding Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks serving under 57 Infantry Division took part in the events.
