Awareness programme held at SFHQ(West) on \"Cyber Crimes & Security\"
An awareness programme to educate troops serving the Security Force West on \'Cyber Crimes and Security\' got underway on Wednesday (13), following an initiative, suggested by the Commander, Security Forces - West on the guidelines given by the Commander of the Army.\r\n\r\nTopics such as \'Rational use of Internet\', \'Social Media\', \'Malicious reports and Antisocial Acts\', \'Use of smart phones and mobile phones\' were taken up for discussion during the workshop, attended by 92 Officers and 148 Other Ranks. Furthermore discussed on Cyber Security and Cyber Audits of Personnel Laptops, Desktop, Computers and Smart Phones during the session.\r\n\r\nColonel S.P.P Pakshaweera, Commanding Officer, 12 Sri Lanka Signal Corps in his lecture to the occasion focused on preventive actions, needed to be taken to protect soldiers from cyber crimes in the wake of fast developing global challenges.\r\n\r\nLieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army after he assumed office as the Army Chief in July this year specifically underlined the importance of learning about Cyber Security against the backdrop of world-wide challenges.\r\n
