ASSISTANCE DURING THE FIRE AT SAMPATH STICKER, A PRIVATE VEHICLE DECORATION INSTITUTE IN WEHERA, KURUNEGALA

Fire was reported at the warehouse of the private company, wehera sampath sticker vehicle decoration, kurunegala, at around 1400 hours on 03 july 2025, due to an electrical leuk. The fire was extinguished with the support of officers from the kurunegala fire rescue department, 00 x 30 troops from the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka National Guard and 02 x 30 troop including the commanding officer of the 9th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard.

As soon as the fire broke out, a large crowd gathered around the scene to watch the incident. To control the situation and prevent any potential danger to the public, the 9th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard soldiers the police officers of the kurunegala police station assisted and clearing traffic and tightening security in the area.

Furthermore, with the support of the kurunegala fire department assistance was provided by the troops in removing items from the warehouse of the institution that were at risk of being damaged by the fire. A concerted effort was made by the troops of the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka National Guard, 9th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard, officers of the kurunegala fire department, the deputy director and officers of the district disaster management centre, and kurunegala police to fully extinguish the fire by approximately 1440 hours on 03 july 2025.

The General Officer Commanding, 57 Infantry Division and the Brigade Commander 571 Infantry Brigade , Comanding Officer of 9th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard Major T.S.P. Kumara RSP SLNG with officers and troops took necessary measures to extinguish the fire in accordance with those guidelines.
